Happy to have a another new station overnight on 2187.5 with Coast station: Malta RCC Malta. Other interesting signals were from Samsun in Turkey and also Bergen in Norway.

It has been interesting running the Perseus with the PA0RDT Mini Whip and the Icom R75 with ALA 1530 loop. on 2187.5 there has hardly been any difference in the directivity of signals. It appears to me that the ALA 1530 becomes more omni-directional at 2 Mhz compared to longwave and MW.

Logs with Icom R75 - 1.9 Filter - ALA 1530 loop - Multipsk

    GMDSS (DSC)

My GMDSS logs (DSC) are for Coastal stations only. I do not do ships because the reality is you can never be too sure where the broadcast actually originates from. With Coastal stations we know exactly where they are.

Evenings I tune to 2187.5 with The Icom R75 and Perseus. I use the ALA which you can see on the left. daytime I tune to 16804.5, 12577 and 8414.5. You can see the Inverted V I use to monitor these HF frequencies

My current number of countries heard are:
    2187.5 -   xxx
    8414.5 -   xxx
    12577 -    xxx
    16804.5 - xxx
