It has been interesting to go for the double whammy on 2187.5. I have started using the Mini Whip along with the ALA 1530. The Mini whip is certainly surprising me. Signals are a little bit stronger on the Mini Whip mainly I think because of its omni-directional characteristics. I wonder sometimes at what frequency the ALA starts to become omni-directional (HF) etc. Its great for MW and LW with its directivity, but I'm unsure about 2.1 Mhz.

    GMDSS (DSC)

My GMDSS logs (DSC) are for Coastal stations only. I do not do ships because the reality is you can never be too sure where the broadcast actually originates from. With Coastal stations we know exactly where they are.

Evenings I tune to 2187.5 with The Icom R75 and Perseus. I use the ALA which you can see on the left. daytime I tune to 16804.5, 12577 and 8414.5. You can see the Inverted V I use to monitor these HF frequencies

My current number of countries heard are:
    2187.5 -   xxx
    8414.5 -   xxx
    12577 -    xxx
    16804.5 - xxx
